The fifth SPPEXA Doctoral Retreat will be held at TU Dresden from 4th to 8th of September 2017. This year's focus will be data management, data handling, and I/O. It is primarily intended for SPPEXA PhD candidates but also open for PIs and postdocs.

• Wednesday: Excursion and Soft-Skills Training
• This will be combined as part of a hiking tour in the very nice sandstone mountains called "Saxon Switzerland" near Dresden. It will also depend on the weather on that day.
• The soft-skills training is about communication an presentation. It will use improvisation techniques to teach how to handle challenging situations in conversations and presentations in self-confident and convincing ways.
