Registration for LiSyM Modeling Workshop

This workshop is a satellite meeting to the LiSyM Young Scientist Retreat. It takes place just before the retreat and is organised by Matthias König, Michael Kücken and Lutz Brusch.

The aim of this additional workshop for the modelers is to demonstrate and discuss the wider applicability, but also the limitations of the mathematical and computational methods and software used and even (co-)developed within LiSyM and to exchange them among LiSyM groups. These methods and tools need not be exclusive results of LiSyM but any advanced computational methods and tools used within LiSyM may be presented. The talks shall introduce the method or tool, give any underlying theory, technical requirements and problems/issues, ideally also a live demo, application example and/or the roadmap for future user support and development. Around this information exchange, we'll enjoy communication and networking among the modelers and discuss challenges and long term perspectives of modeling for Systems Medicine, considering specific medical data issues.

With your registration, we ask for an abstract of your optional presentation (20min plus 10min discussion). We'll arrange talks in four sessions:

1. Analysis of big data and networks (gene regulatory, metabolic and related)
2. Image analysis and machine learning
3. Models and methods for analysing temporal dynamics
4. Multiscale models and methods for spatio-temporal dynamics

Participants (students and postdocs) can stay an additional night in the same room in Hofgeismar prior to the retreat. On our second day, the modeling workshop will phase over to the retreat from Wednesday, 29 January till Friday, 31 January.
